My story of the GUTKOWSKI FAMILY begins to unfold when my great-great-grandfather, Franciszek (Frank) Gutkowski on August 29, 1905, at the age of 20, arrived in NYC. With $4 in his pocket, took off to Salem, MA looking for his father.

My great-great-grandmother, Waldislawa Sokoloska on May 22, 1907, at the age of 19-arrived in NYC. With $2 in hand, she joined her sister living at 180 S. 26th Street, Brooklyn, NY.

On June 16, 1909, my great-great-grandfather and great-great-grandmother were married in St. Joeph's Church, Passaic, NJ. And so begins the Gutkowski Family, in Lyndhurst, NJ.
